Hi guys,

Apologies if this is covered somewhere else but I don't think there is an explicit answer to this in the FAQs.

How much can a person's height exceed his wingspan before it becomes an issue?

I know the answer is a function of starting height, i.e. a patient starting at say 172 can take more in each limb than someone starting at 165, so I need to be more specific:

Assume a person who is 164.5 cm before surgery with a 171 wingspan.

And that this person lengthens 7.5 cm on his femurs leaving him at 172 cm height and a 171 wingspan.

How much tibial lengthening can he do a few years later assuming he has a torso proportionate to his wingspan? Could he take 5 cm with no problem (leaving his height 6 cm greater than his wingspan) or would he look like a spider?

Good question Scormus, I wanted to know this as well but like yourself I couldn't seem to find the specific answers also.

As my height is 166-167cm and my wingspan is approx 172-173cm I want to know that if I complete 5-6cm on tibs, then the same amount of lengthening a while later with femurs, would I look odd proportionally then being 178-179cm tall? I would imagine that a person's torso length or seated height would play a large role in how one would look proportionally if their wingspan was exceeded by maybe 4-5cm or so.

I really am now only focused on doing tibs in Europe and want see how I go first before seriously considering a 2nd op as most vets and mmt believe one should "get over one hurdle at a time" which is sound advice but in the back of my mind reaching 178-179cm is a very tempting carrot. If I'm being honest with myself though, I think I will most likely be quite comfortable at a new height of 172-173cm after just doing tibs thus a 2nd op most likely wont be a consideration.

It all depends on your body shape.   Some people have gone around 10cm over their wingspan.   Its best getting a surgeons advice on this

Things start to look weird as soon as you go more than an inch over in my experience...

Would 5-6 cm lifts accurately simulate this?

And if so, and if I find that at a post-LL 172 plus 5-6 cm lifts that I get more action from women than just presenting myself at 172, I would argue, the disproportion is there but doesn't matter.

I don't care if it looks odd, all I care is it gets me more action.

I'd swap faces with Seal if it meant I could get the action he does.

Yeah, that's great, until a chick has to see you naked and realises that you look like a freak - or that you cannot hold her hand properly when you're walking down the street because your arms are out of proportion with your legs Wink

Ah worst case I may have to be a sick enough puppy to do 3.0 cm on the tibias then.

MMT - I know you'll find this hard to believe but:

Your pre-LL total leg length of 89.5 cm is still slightly more than my total leg length AFTER adding 7.5 cm!

I always knew I had short, stubby legs but now it's a *good* thing. Smiley

Why would I find that hard to believe?

Black people have longer legs, and longer arms too...
