Should a LL candidate be able to atleast touch his toes? Or even better place his palms on the ground?  Or even better have yoga like fitness?  Is there a pre-requisite as such for flexibility before getting LL? I myself cant even touch my toes.  Should that mean I should discount myself from LL. Or do I need to spend a few months gaining flexibility before considering it.

Thanks

I would guess the more flexible the better especially in the area of lengthening.  I think touching your toes is a good stepping stone.

You have to be very flexible, so more flexible than average. If you don't go to the gym, then you'd better start Smiley

Flexibility is extremely important for LL.

It will:
(a) result in less stretching pain while lengthening, and
(b) aid long-term soft tissue recovery

Thanks Growing.  How flexible were you before LL? And how flexible are you now?

Thanks Growing.  How flexible were you before LL? And how flexible are you now?

I did not focus enough on flexibility before I had the procedure; I leaned on my years training in the gym and playing sports.  It seems reasonable to me that a greater emphasis on flexibility prior to the procedure may have lead to less clicking issues and lengthening pain.

My advice to any future patient is to prepare for the procedure by engaging in yoga, martial arts, or other physical activity emphasizing flexibility.

As for my flexibility now: WORK IN PROGRESS Smiley

Maybe I should enroll a yoga class or a martial art class. I can touch the ground using my palms. But what you guys said suggests me I should do more than that.
