In fact, there are three Korea University Hospitals: An-am, Gu-ro, and An-san. I'm curious, which one did you have the surgery at? If you're talking about the hospital I'm thinking of, then what did you think of Dr. Lee and Dr. Song? Did you read the papers Dr. Song had published in various medical journals? I'm assuming Dr. Lee did your surgery, yes? If An-san, then I'm in the dark. I imagine it gets pretty smelly around the hospital in the springtime, with Oido and the tidal flats. Summertime is beautiful there, though. Sometimes I go to Oido on weekends, jog along the seawall and eat fresh fish afterward. $43,500 USD? Did that include hospital stay, medication, et cetera? Seems a tad bit expensive, considering that Beijing is a mere hour and forty-five minutes away by plane. Anyway, fingers crossed on a speedy recovery . . .

Papillon // it's Guro hosipital and i had surgery from Dr Song.  and in that $ 43500 usd, it is sum of all the moneys that i have used in the hosipital (it is quite expensive becuz i stayed in vip room, its fee is about 10 times expensive. )
if i stayed in normal room, it is about 26,086. 96 USD.

Updated for you. It looks like a pretty simple, but lightweight Ilizarov frame.

What are the doctors like?

It is painful? Without the vip room it is cheaper than China? When are you going to put the rods?

Is there internal method available in Korea?

To others, I checked out medical facilities in Korea at many times volunteering for the International Clinic at the Severance Hospital.   The level of cleanliness there exceeds the West and I would say the medical facilities and expertise is on par with most developed countries and considerably superior to Eastern Europe and China.

I hadn't considered LL in Korea before but I would like to check it out since the price is comparable to China.   China is not what I'd consider a developed country.

if you mean ISKD as an internal method.  there is a hosipital.  the price is about 27000 usd ~ 30000 usd.
it is 3rd class medical facility(3rd class means where they only have one department. )
as you might know Severance Hosipital is 1st class medical facility(they have almost every medical department. )

Caoliam,

I didn't know about the Korea University option in Seoul, thanks for sharing it.

I'm curious why you didn't try the LL clinic in Mokdong area of Seoul with Dr.  Lee.  His prices are far more competitive, includes surgery + housing, and until now, I thought he was the leading authority on LL surgery in Korea.

Price is the following for ISKD Surgery:

1) Lengthening on femur OR tibae with 2-week hospital stay (15 million South Korean won = roughly 10,000 EURO)
2) Lengthening on femur AND tibae with 3-month hospital stay (35 million South Korean won = roughly 20,000 EURO)

Hi, kflee82,

could you give us Dr.  Lee's contact information or his website?

Thanks
