That's because newbies have to read the FAQs and Diaries in post an introduction in the "Welcome Newbies" thread before they can create a new thread.

And only members who have been active for a certain time can post links to prevent people using our forum to advertise nonsense and post inappropriate spam. Someone who comes once and posts a link is obviously not a serious community member.

If you post a question on the forum asking why you cannot do one of the above things, that proves that you didn't read this section, and you are in danger of being banned...

Read this FAQ section before you do anything else on this forum!
